Pochote House
COBANO, PUNTARENAS, COSTA RICA. 2024
160 m2
100 masl
Basal Floor - Rainforest
This design is based on two main volumes, separated by a transition space that moves between two trees. One façade opens up and seems to float toward the forest, while the other offers privacy through bahareque walls—using earth from the site as a breathable enclosure for the house.
A large deck, set at the height of the pochote tree canopies, invites rest and reflection.
Each space is deeply connected to its surroundings, with framed views that create a feeling of immersion in the tropical jungle—while maintaining both thermal and spatial comfort.
It is a light, steel-framed house with hollow-core bahareque walls, floating amid the vegetation.
